The One... The Only.... The Student Motivation Action Research Project!

I am posting my action research plan for student motivation. This plan can and should be modified to become a more effective plan. From the readings, I have learned that the more changes made to a plan the better the outcome. So I am hoping to receive feedback from my colleagues and recommendations for a more perfect and more effective action research project.

Action Research Project
Goal: Student motivation is very important for any school. Without student motivation, students are not able to gain the knowledge needed; they will be hesitant when it comes to learning. My ultimate goal is to increase student motivation to where my students will feel comfortable and achieve more in the classroom. How can I make sure my students are motivated enough to enjoy the learning experience in my classroom?

Meet with the principal to figure out the needs of the school. We will discuss what issue needs to be met to improve to achievement of the students. Administer a meeting with 4th grade teachers to figure out the methods used for student motivation and collaborate with them on how they want the research plan to be implemented (using just one classroom and one motivational technique or using all fourth grade classrooms each using a different motivational technique)	Principal Humble/ Stacie Verdine	August 1, 2012- August 30, 2012	A list of what motivational techniques the 4th grade teachers are using. Interview other teachers about specific students that are not motivated in the classroom Interview the students on what they believe are the best motivational techniques. Hold a staff meeting that will discuss the data results about the effects of student motivation. We will collaborate and find patterns in the data	Principal Humble/ Stacie Verdine	January 1, 2013- January 30, 2013	A Presentation based on the research results, guest speaker (maybe about WittFitt)	I will have signatures of staff members that attended the meeting
Create a survey that includes the research results about student motivation. This survey will give me an idea of what technique the teachers would like to bring into their classrooms	Stacie Verdine/ All 4th grade teachers	February 1, 2013- February 30, 2013	Surveys created to get the opinions and suggestions of 4th grade teachers	The results of these surveys will be my evaluation. Giving me an idea of what technique the teachers would like to bring into their classrooms.
Teachers will be able to test the technique chosen by all 4th grade teachers.	All 4th grade teachers	March 1, 3013- March 30, 2013	Research results about this specific technique, items (if needed) to carry out this plan of motivation	I will observe the classroom using this technique and its effectiveness.
Teachers will meet to discuss the effectiveness of the chosen technique.
